16 fluid ounces (473ml) of Tetraselmis sp. Phytoplankton

This is a hobby grade culture suitable for re-culture or direct dosing to your reef tank or for feeding cultures of pods or rotophers. Tetraselmis has a very high lipid level; their amino acids stimulate feeding in marine organisms

For re-culture, dilute with fresh mixed seawater to 1/3 concentration and add a suitable medium such as Guillard’s F/2. Phyto will double in concentration about every 4-5 days if provided adequate light and nutrients.

For direct dosing of mature reef tanks, a dose of 2-5ml per 10 Gallons is recommended daily. Start low and increase to desired dose over several weeks.

For feeding cultures of pods or rotophers add Phyto to the culture until water is tinted lime green (about a 1 to 8 ratio). Re-add when pod or rotopher culture goes clear.

If refrigerated the live Phyto culture remains viable and useable for at least a month. Make sure to shake daily to prevent settling. Healthy Tetraselmis should be green and have a scent like the sea. Discard if color goes brown and/or smells strongly of rotten vegetation.
