R.J. Lechmere Guppy is the fella who is responsible for the fish’s name. Formally named Girardinus guppii after his discovery in Trinidad, it was later deduced that the guppy already had a name and its name was Poecilia reticulata – a name that is still accurate today! Ours look nothing like the wild forms as ours have been selectively bred for decades. The colors are bright, vibrant and amazing! This is one of those species that people trying fish for the first time will enjoy and people who keep fish for most of their lives can appreciate. It is a staple of the hobby and ours are really very nice!
