Pethia conchonius is found Natively in Bangladesh, India, Nepal and Pakistan. It is a surprisingly easy fish to keep with an incredible payoff with the male’s coloration. They are not fussy feeders and are omnivores in the wild. The water parameters range from 6.0 to 8.0 pH so you can go crazy. Your tap water will likely suit them, unless you live in LA. Then you take the water out of your tank, let it dry and you have cement. I digress… they can be a bit rambunctious, so keeping them in larger groups will reduce aggression and keeping them in 40 gallon tanks will also help reduce aggression.
