Oliotius oligolepis is one of the most common barb species you are likely to encounter today as they are easy to keep, readily available and they are very attractive! We have found an exporter in Indonesia that send us just the most beautiful variety that our photo tank image doesn’t do justice to the fish. They red in the male’s fins is truly amazing and the smattering of black spots on the flanks are outstanding. This is a very easy fish to keep with them thriving on flake food, clean water and clean filters. They don’t pester tank mates like most barbs and most tank mates don’t pester them. Win!
