Hyphessobrycon amandae has been underrated in the US hobby for YEARS. It is finally starting to garner attention that is well deserved as they are really nice fish. Wild behavior, spawning and water parameters are not reliably reported, but aquarium care has been reported for years and the conclusion is keep them with chill tank-mates, keep them in groups and softer water will not go amiss. We have them fully colored in the shop, often just keeping them with their buddies in clean water. They are gregarious eaters and will accept most prepared foods.
