Native to North and South America, this aquatic plant is also known as the Carolina Fanwort. The shoot has dark feathery green leaves, each leaves is divided into narrow segments. It is a densely growing plant, the shoots get very long and bushy. It is fast growing plant that can be an aquarium center piece or can makes for a good background plant.
Cabomba does best when grown in neutral water under moderate lighting. Provide at least 2 watts per gallon of full spectrum (5000-7000K) lighting.. These plants do not tolerate frequent trimming and transplanting. Leaves dropping from the plant are usually a sign of poor water conditions or CO2 deficiency.
This species will propagate is by side shoots, rhizome division or a new plant will form from a cutting. All plants are sensitive to copper; the Cabomba is no exception. Be aware about the type of medication you are introducing to the aquarium, especially chemicals to control snails infestation, those are usually copper based and should not be added to a planted aquarium
