Here at Because Your Fish, we are a family of hobbyists and breeders. We offer top-of-the-line, hobbyist bred and raised freshwater fish, invertebrates and plants. All products have been raised locally with a little bit of patience and love. Our goal is to provide quality products at affordable prices with superior customer service.

We use 3/4” styrofoam to insulate shipping boxes. We use 4 mil poly bags to ensure an insulated safe and puncture-free shipping experience for our animals. Every product is heat sealed and double bagged and additional packaging materials are added as needed, including heat/cold pack. ***small shipping boxes are too small to insulate and are only available for shipping snails and plants.

WE PROMISE TO PROVIDE AN EXCELLENT CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE. WHAT WE DO:

We promise to ensure all animals and plants are visually healthy before we send them to our customers. We pack and ship our stock carefully and work hard to provide a positive experience every time. We will take careful consideration for the animals, including heat packs/cold packs as appropriate and all fish are bagged with oxygen and sealed. In order to help provide a positive experience, we reserve the right to delay shipping due to unforeseen circumstances (weather, shipping issues, etc.). If we do have to make any adjustments to the normal shipping protocol, we guarantee timely notification and updates. OUR CUSTOMERS' DUTIES

While we promise to get your products off to the best start, we are not in control of the shipping process once it leaves our hands. So we will do our best to address any issues or delay which results in an unsatisfactory experience with shipping according to our protocol below. Now for the truth... we promise to send awesome products and in exchange we are trusting that our customers have done the research and are ready to care for them. Your success in the hobby is our success so please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions as you continue your journey. We love to help!

Shipping to US only - USPS Priority is normally 3 day shipping. USPS Express is normally 2 day shipping.

LIVE ARRIVAL GUARANTEE

Because Your Fish works hard to guarantee our product will arrive alive. That said, if you receive your shipment and discover dead animals, we will gladly issue a refund/replacement if the following conditions are met:

-Express Shipping is selected for fish

-Plants and snails are guaranteed by all shipping method

-Time stamped photos (at least 3 pictures) of any deceased animals in the unopened bag must be emailed to us at becauseyourfish@gmail.com within 1 hour of delivery.

Failure to provide sufficient photos within 1 hour of delivery will void the guarantee.

***Live Arrival Guarantee for fish on Express Shipping only.

We reserve the right to choose to refund or replace the order. Shipping charges are not refundable. Many factors can play in and we always try to do what is best for the animals and the customer. We promise to communicate the outcome of any application of the Live Arrival Guarantee timely.

Shipping fees cannot be refunded.

Orders are normally processed within 24 hours. All orders ship on Monday. Orders may ship Tuesday due to holidays.

I ordered Daisy's Ricefish which arrived meticulously packaged--if you're familiar with Dan's packaging, it's like that, heat-pack and all; it's the best method for shipping small fish in my opinion. The fish were also robust and healthy, which also helped them endure a cold journey across the country. From his tank to my tank, it's clear that Because Your Fish took great care of these fish!
