serpae Tetra

Hyphessobrycon eques

The serpae tetra, also known as jewel tetra or callistus tetra, is a species of tropical freshwater fish of the characin family of order Characiformes. It is native to the Amazon River drainage in Brazil, Peru, Paraguay, Bolivia and northern Argentina. Currently these fish are spawning so it will be a couple of weeks before I can send them out to a customer. I advise that you atleast have a group of six of more, otherwise they may become aggressive towards your other Fish.I ship these fish as babies usually about a half inch in size, unsexed juveniles. they get around 2- 2 1/2 inches in size as adults. make sure you have a tank set up before hand, larger fish in your aquarium may try to eat juvenile fish. So keep that in mind when ordering these fish, may be a good idea to have another tank set up for these fish to grow out more before adding them in with larger fish.
